Mr. Lindsayasked the Secretary of State for War how many recommendations for awards for distinguished service on the part of British officers serving in the Congo have been received from the United Nations Command and are now under consideration at the War Office; what is the date of the earliest of these citations; and when it is expected that a decision upon them will be reached.
§ Mr. ProfumoSeventeen recommendations for distinguished service have been received, the earliest in September this year. Decisions have been reached on all of them. As my hon. Friend will realise, awards for distinguished service are made in the Half Yearly Honours List.
