HC Deb 21 December 1961 vol 651 c187W
68. Mr. Lindsay

asked the Postmaster-General what is the average waiting time of subscribers on the London Cunningham Exchange on dialling 100 or DIR on a Friday evening or Sunday morning; what is the reason for the delay; and how it compares with the rest of London.

Miss Pike

The detailed figures asked for by my hon. Friend are not available. Our regular statistics show that the service to subscribers on the Cunningham exchange, particularly in the evening, compares pretty well with that to other London subscribers. The average waiting time at Cunningham in the evening is less than five seconds, although individual calls may take longer to answer. If my hon. Friend has any particular occasions in mind and will let my right hon. Friend have details, we will be glad to make inquiry.
