§ Commander Keransasked the Civil Lord of the Admiralty what plans he has to improve ventilation and air-conditioning arrangements in Her Majesty's ships in commission and in future construction, as a result of the lessons learnt from the Kuwait operation.
§ Mr. C. Ian Orr-EwingIt is already Admiralty policy to fit air conditioning arrangements in all new construction warships and Royal Fleet Auxiliaries likely to serve in the tropics. Air conditioning is also fitted retrospectively in existing ships when this is practicable and justified by their future life and employment. The Kuwait operation proved that the air conditioning systems installed in H.M.S. "Bulwark" and the ships stationed in the Persian Gulf was invaluable.
