asked the Ministry of Aviation how many landings and takeoffs respectively took place from London Airport Central between midnight on 3rd December, 1961, and midnight on 10th December; how many took place direct from airport exits; and on how many occasions it was necessary for passengers to move from airport exits to aircraft either by coach or long walk.

During this period there were 939 landings and 966 takeoffs of passenger aircraft at London Airport Central. On 340 occasions the aircraft were positioned on stands adjacent to the exits from the relative terminal buildings. On 24 occasions passengers were required to walk up to 1,000 feet in the open air and on 1,541 occasions they were conveyed by coach.
