§ Mr. K. Robinsonasked the Minister of Health if he is aware that several cases have arisen where a hospital has agreed to accept a patient suffering from mental disorder on a hospital order made under Section 60 of the Mental Health Act, and on admission it was found that a further order restricting discharge under Section 65 had been made by the court; and if he will arrange for hospitals to be informed, when they are asked in advance to accept such a patient, that a Section 65 order is in contemplation, and to be authorised to refuse admission when a patient arrives under such an order without prior notice.
§ Mr. PowellThe decision whether to make a hospital order, with or without an order restricting discharge, rests entirely with the court, whose conclusion cannot be known when a hospital is asked to accept a patient in the event of such order or orders being made.
