§ 49. Mr. Proudfootasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many students at universities are taking business and management courses, respectively; and what proportion of students they represent.
§ Mr. BrookeManagement studies are not generally treated in the universities as an undergraduate subject, though there is a wide range of courses in subjects such as commerce, economics, law, etc., which are disciplines pertinent to 181W management. In 1960–61 there were about 1,200 students taking postgraduate courses in management or allied subjects, and I understand that in addition Bristol, Cambridge and Leeds are, with industrial help, developing comparable courses.
