§ Mr. SoamesIn view of the present overriding need for greater economy in Government expenditure, I have regretfully decided that I must defer the introduction of a compulsory slaughter policy for swine fever, which would entail heavy initial expenses, until early in 1963. But we will be starting on 1st May, 1962, with the longer-term, but annually less costly, free calf vaccination service against brucellosis both in Scotland and in England and Wales.
