Pitmanasked the Postmaster-General whether, in order to discourage excessive purchases of stamps, in denominations of the present penny and halfpenny, in anticipation of the decimalisation of the penny in relation to the shilling, he will announce that new stamps will be issued and that all such present stamps will be made invalid except for exchange at the appropriate value into those in the new issue.
