HC Deb 04 August 1961 vol 645 cc248-9W
Mr. Dugdale

asked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations whether he will consider raising the salaries of officers working in the High Commission Territories, in view of the fact that officers in the Colonial Service employed on comparable work have higher salaries.

Mr. Sandys

Uniformity of salaries between all Colonial Territories is not practicable, but the remuneration of officers working in the High Commission Territories is periodically reviewed, and substantial increases in salaries were given as recently as 1959.
