HC Deb 04 August 1961 vol 645 cc253-4W
Lieutenant-Colonel Sir W. Bromley-Davenport

asked the Minister of Transport why advance distance markers of motorway pattern have been installed on Colnbrook by-pass, trunk road A.4; why the markers on the offside of the road have the bars sloping in the wrong direction and not in accordance with continental practice as specified in Note 2 to diagram 130 of the Traffic Signs (Amendment) Regulations, 1960; and whether he will take remedial action in this matter.

Mr. Marples

These signs were put up without my authority by contractors in conjunction with temporary traffic signals necessitated by work on the Slough by-pass. I gave instructions on 2nd August for the signs to be removed.
