HC Deb 04 August 1961 vol 645 c242W
Mr. Wade

asked the Postmaster-General if, in view of the fact that many blind persons who are telephone subscribers are much more dependent on the telephone than other subscribers and may be unable to afford to have a telephone in future owing to the additional rental charges, he will re-examine the practicability of introducing special terms for the benefit of subscribers or would-be subscribers who are registered as blind persons.

Mr. Bevins

I have re-examined this matter and I am sorry to say that it is not practicable to apply differential telephone charges to particular groups of people.
