§ Mr. MarplesThe number of full time driving examiners in post in Lanarkshire is 27. No part time examiners are employed.
Driving and traffic examiners are recruited through open competitions which are conducted by the Civil Service Commissioners. Competitions are advertised in the national press. Exceptionally, in 1960, a number of temporary examiners were recruited directly by my Department through the Ministry of Labour.
