§ 3. Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that a letter from the hon. Member for Chigwell, posted in Central London before mid-day and postmarked 12.45 p.m. on 14th April, 1961, was not received by the member of the Chigwell Urban District Council to whom it was addressed at his home in Chigwell until the morning of 17th April, 1961, whereas another letter, posted at the same time, from the hon. Member for Chigwell to a member of the Essex County Council, addressed to her at her home in Little Laver, Harlow, Essex, was received by her on 15th April, 1961; and what action he is taking to improve these services.
§ Miss PikeThe letter for Chigwell should have been delivered, like the letter for Harlow, on 15th April. I am sorry this did not happen. If my hon. Friend will let me have the envelope I will have inquiry made as to the cause of the delay.
