HC Deb 26 April 1961 vol 639 cc49-50W
70. Sir A. Hurd

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many small farm business plans and field husbandry grants have been approved in Berkshire; and what was the total amount of grants involved.

Mr. Soames

One hundred and twenty-five farm business plans had been approved in Berkshire under the Small Farmer Scheme up to 3lst March, 1961. The sum total of grants which these plans will earn when completed cannot be given exactly but is estimated at about £100,000, of which approximately two-thirds would be for field husbandry operations. Most of the plans include work which will attract one or more field husbandry grants, but it would involve a disproportionate amount of time and labour to obtain a figure for the number of individual payments.
