HC Deb 24 April 1961 vol 639 c2W
Mr. Clive Bossom

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if, in view of the risk of the spread of fowl pest in Herefordshire, he will revoke the licence granted to the United States Air Force to import uncooked poultry meat into this country.

Mr. Soames

No. I am satisfied that the responsible American authorities are observing the stringent veterinary precautions laid down for the purpose of these special imports of poultry carcases. I have no evidence that the spread of fowl pest in this country has been in any way attributable to them.
