HC Deb 17 April 1961 vol 638 cc70-1W
74. Mr. G. M. Thomson

asked the Secretary to the Treasury in which Commonwealth or Colonial Territories Her Majesty's Stationery Office has no overseas agent; and what steps are being taken to make available official British publications in those places.

Sir E. Boyle

All Commonwealth countries, except the Federation of Malaya, the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland, and the Republic of Cyprus have officially appointed agents for Her Majesty's Stationery Office publications. In the Colonial Territories agents have been appointed in Kenya, Sierra Leone and Trinidad.

Government publications are exported to Commonwealth and Colonial countries not only through appointed agents but directly to overseas customers, overseas booksellers and through United Kingdom book exporters.

As part of a drive to increase its export of official publications the Stationery Office is exploring the possibilities of appointing additional agents in these countries.
