Dr. Dickson Mabon

asked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations what amount of financial assitsance, and for what general or specific purposes, has been given, in each financial year, by Her Majesty's Government to the Federal Government of Rhodesia and Nyasaland since the Federation came into being.

The following Colonial Development and Welfare allocations to the Federal Government have been approved since the Federation was set up:

In addition £1,892,705 out of an allocation totalling £2,875,000 has been paid to the University College in Salisbury; and the Colonial Development Corporation has lent £15 million to the Federal Government for the Kariba Dam project.
