HC Deb 12 April 1961 vol 638 c22W
Mr. Gresham Cooke

asked the Minister of Transport whether having regard to the fact that the expenditure on the proposed Survey of London Road Traffic cannot be more than a fraction of the expenditure on the road works concerned and that an inadequate survey would result in two years of inquiry being largely wasted, he will give an assurance that the proposed survey will be comprehensive in character.

Mr. Marples

The precise proposals are still under discussion between the London County Council, the consultants, and my Department, but it is my intention that the survey should be comprehensive.
