Northern Region, of which only that at Sunderland is in a development district.

asked the President of the Board of Trade for what period the Government-owned factory in Sunderland has been vacant; and what steps have been taken to secure a tenant.

We are at present negotiating with a prospective tenant for this factory, which has been vacant since May, 1960, and there is a good prospect that it will soon be re-let.
