HC Deb 27 October 1960 vol 627 c320W
Mr. Elwyn Jones

asked the Minister of Health what steps are being taken to publicise the facilities existing under the National Health Service for vaccination against poliomyelitis.

Miss Pitt

Continuous publicity is given by local health authorities to the facilities they provide and to the need for persons for whom vaccination is available to take advantage of these facilities. Medical practitioners also play an active part in encouraging patients to be vaccinated.

The Ministry supply posters free of charge and sponsor the making of film-lets for showing on television, and we take every available opportunity of emphasising publicly that the large number of people who have not yet secured the protection available to them should do so without delay.
