Mrs. Hartasked the Minister of Labour what was the number of young persons registered as unemployed at the employment exchanges, respectively, of Lanark, Carluke, Lesmahagow, East Kilbride, Larkhall, and Sanquhar at the latest convenient date; and what was the number of unfilled vacancies at each.
§ Mr. P. ThomasAt 14th November, 1960, 30 young persons were registered as unemployed at Lanark, 18 at Larkhall and 34 at Rutherglen Youth Employment Offices and 15 at Sanquhar Employment Exchange. At 9th November, 1960, there were 14 notified vacancies remaining unfilled at Lanark, 22 at Larkhall, 59 at Rutherglen, and one at Sanquhar.
Separate figures are available only for Sanquhar. Figures for Lanark and Carluke are combined under Lanark; those for Lesmahagow and Larkhall under Larkhall; those for East Kilbride are included under Rutherglen.
