asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will stop the proposed building by Rootes of a motor factory in Scotland, in view of the difficult situation of the industry in Coventry.

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will relax existing hire purchase restrictions between now and next April, in order to assist employment in the motor industry.

As my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer has already said, these restrictions will be eased as soon as the Government judge it safe to do so.
