HC Deb 17 November 1960 vol 630 cc58-9W
Mr. A. Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department under what authority the Metropolitan Police permit a person believed to be entitled to diplomatic privileges to leave his car hearing the CD plates in a restricted area, contrary to the laws on parking.

Mr. Renton

Persons entitled to diplomatic privilege are not amenable to criminal process. I am informed by the Commissioner of Police that the police endeavour to secure the co-operation of such persons in avoiding obstruction and in complying with the parking regulations.
