§ Mr. Stonehouseasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what action he is taking in regard to the sugar estate riots in Uganda.
§ Mr. Iain MacleodStrikes by sugar estate workers at Lugazi and Kakira have been settled and discussions have been arranged between the managements and the workers' representatives. Prompt action by the police restored order in scattered areas where disturbances and intimidation took place and the situation is now calm.
