HC Deb 10 November 1960 vol 629 c76W
87. Mr. Stonehouse

asked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations when the Federal Constitutional Review Conference will commence; and what will be the basis of representation at the conference.

Mr. Sandys

Consultations with the Governments in the Federation about the date have not yet been completed. It will be announced as soon as possible. Article 99 of the Federal Constitution provides that the delegations to the Conference shall be chosen by the respective Governments. The other Governments concerned are being consulted.

In this connection I would draw the hon. Member's attention to the statement I made on this subject in the debate on the Address on 3rd November, 1960 (HANSARD, col. 372).
