§ Mr. Iremongerasked the Minister of Health what guidance he, in conjunction with the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs, has given, or proposes to give, by way of a joint circular to local authorities, on matters relating to accommodation services for elderly people, with special reference to the combination of residential accommodation under Part III of the National Assistance Act, 1948, with the provision of specially designed local authority built houses or flats for elderly people who require only limited supervision.
§ Miss PittMy right hon. Friends are preparing a joint circular for issue to housing and to local health and welfare authorities. It will deal with ways in which they can work together, in co-operation with the voluntary organisations, to promote the health and welfare of old people, and will include guidance on the matters mentioned by my hon. Friend.
