§ Sir D. EcclesThe possibility of establishing centres in addition to the existing centres at Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Manchester and Newcastle is at present under active consideration. At the same time, new arrangements are being negotiated for the existing centres which have hitherto been supported by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research from Conditional Aid funds. All these proposals depend on the sharing of costs between the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research and industry.
