§ Mr. Kitsonasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will consider introducing a scheme whereby owners of cattle test their own animals at their own expense for tuberculosis, and full compensation is paid for pedigree cattle that react to official and private testing.
§ Mr. John HarePrivate tuberculin tests are allowed subject to the consent of my veterinary officers: this is never unreasonably withheld. As to compensation payments for slaughtered reactor cattle, I would refer my hon. Friend to my hon. Friend's reply of 31st March.
