§ Captain Kerbyasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in south-west Sussex.
§ Mr. HareAn outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease among cattle and pigs was confirmed on 4th May, at Clapham, Worthing. Investigation into the origin of infection is still proceeding. Compensation totalling approximately £7,000 will be paid for the 149 cattle, 41 pigs and 2 sheep slaughtered.
