HC Deb 09 May 1960 vol 623 c16W
75. Mr. Prentice

asked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance how many National Assistance grants are now being paid to supplement benefits under the Industrial Injuries Act.

Mr. Vane

I am informed by the National Assistance Board that the persons receiving weekly National Assistance grants to supplement National Insurance payments on 29th March last included 1,960 who had a payment under the National Insurance (Industrial Injuries) Act but no other National Insurance benefit. In addition, there were doubtless some whose main resource was another National Insurance benefit but who were also receiving a payment under that Act; the number of these is not, however, known.
