asked the Minister of Transport what is the number of staff employed full-time in his Department on road safety.

Mr. Marples

1,326 officers are engaged full-time on road safety, of whom 1,309 are employed in the driving test organisation. In addition, about the same number are engaged on other work that contributes towards greater safety on the roads.
