§ Mr. Walker-SmithI am considering in the light of the contents of this memorandum and the information which has recently been collected by officers of my Department in the course of a special survey of areas where the shortage of midwives was known to be most acute, what further action can usefully be undertaken to increase the number of practising midwives.
