73. Mr. Gresham Cookeasked the President of the Board of Trade if, in order to ensure the placing of long-term contracts abroad, he will make a declaration now that sheet steel will continue to be imported duty free in 1961.
Mr. ErroilMy right hon. Friend is aware of the importance of this matter to the industries which use sheet steel. As soon as he receives an application for the extension of the present exemption from duty he will give it speedy and sympathetic consideration.
