asked Her Majesty's Government to state, separately, the value of the production of wheat and rye; barley; oats and mixed corn; potatoes; eggs; fat cattle; fat sheep; fat pigs; comprised in the £1,270 million gross output of the agricultural industry.

The figure of £1,270 million is the total value of the guarantees as calculated at the 1960 Annual Price Review for the purpose of the long-term assurances in accordance with the Agriculture Act, 1957. This figure comprises that part of the output of the agricultural industry which is covered by the guarantees valued at the prices guaranteed for 1959–60, plus the value of relevant production grants.

The value of gross output includes all farm products whether guaranteed or not but excludes production grants; this is forecast to be £1,494 million in 1959–60. The values of the individual commodities in question, including guarantee payments where applicable, are as follows:
