§ Lord John HopeI assume the hon. Member is referring particularly to the roof of the Great Hall at Hampton Court Palace where the presence of wood-boring beetles was detected some months ago. Scaffolding is being erected by a contractor to enable my Department's professional officers to examine the roof timbers at close range. This will be done in the period during which the beetle emerges, which is from the end of March to the beginning of May.
