HC Deb 21 March 1960 vol 620 c2W
15. Sir A. Hurd

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the total cost in Purchase Tax rebate and administrative expenses in respect of cartridges used for pigeon shoots in the past year.

Mr. Godber

There is no rebate of Purchase Tax as such, but the total rebate on cartridges used for shooting wood-pigeons and other harmful birds paid during 1959 was £35,500. I have no separate figure for the cost of administering the rebate.
