§ Mr. Iain MacleodDiscussions are taking place between representatives of Her Majesty's Government and Bailey (Malta) Ltd., on the detailed plans which the Company have drawn up for the conversion of the dockyard. I recognise the importance of keeping the trade unions informed of developments in connection with the Dockyard and with industrial development in general and, when I saw representatives of the General Workers' Union in Malta last December, I reaffirmed the undertaking given to them by my predecessor in December, 1958, to review employment prospects with them in 18 months from that time.
