asked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance the number of allowances paid by the National Assistance Board in supplement of unemployment benefit at the latest available date.

asked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance the average amount of National Assistance supplementation paid to unemployed persons in the Midlands of England and in Scotland, respectively.

The average amount of National Assistance grants paid as supplements to unemployment benefit during a recent period of four weeks was 31s. 2d. in the Midland Region, 33s. 7d. in the North-Midland Region and 25s. 11d. in Scotland.
