HC Deb 27 June 1960 vol 625 c84W
Mr. Iremonger

asked the Minister of Health whether he is yet able to make a statement on the outcome of his consultations with local authority associations on the subject of the rôle of welfare authorities in organising and providing recreational and sports facilities for limbless people, especially ex-Service men.

Mr. Walker-Smith

I brought to the notice of the associations representations made to me on this subject and they are bringing the point to the attention of their constituent authorities. It is, of course, for each local authority to decide what facilities it provides in the light of its knowledge of the needs to be met in its own area.
