§ 71. Mr. G. Thomasasked the Minister of Transport what plans he has, other than the provision of by-pass roads and a second bridge over the River Usk, for relieving the severe traffic congestion in Newport, Monmouthshire, and in Cardiff; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. MarplesThe initiative in these matters rests with the responsible highway authorities. I understand that the County Borough of Newport has recently decided to make a comprehensive Traffic Control Order and that in Cardiff restrictions on waiting have lately been extended.
