§ Mr. M. MacPhersonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland, for the last convenient period of twelve months, how many cases of theft and burglary were known to the police in which cigarettes were the only or the main item stolen; in how many of these cases prosecutions took place; and in how many cases prosecutions took place for reset.
§ Mr. MaclayI regret that this information is not available and could not be collected without disproportionate labour, but I am not aware of any serious increase in such cases.
