At Trafford Park emissions from processes registered under the Alkali Act have been substantially reduced in recent years, and the objective remains to reduce them still more. Special attention is always paid to emissions from registered processes close to houses. Action on the other registered28W processes mentioned will follow the lines indicated in the report. Measures are being taken by the Alkali Inspectorate and by the local authorities in and around Salford which should result in progressive reduction in air pollution.
