§ Mr. Mathewasked the Minister of Transport if he is aware of the urgent need for high priority to be given to an overall improvement of main roads to the tourist areas in the South-West; and if he will draw up a plan to deal with this problem before the next summer season.
§ Mr. MarplesPlans for the improvement of these roads exist, and some are in an advanced stage of preparation. The commencement of work depends, however, on the provision of funds and on this I cannot add to the statement made by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister on 26th April, 1960.
