asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs, in the development plans approved to date, how many acres of land, in total, have been designated for residential purposes.

I regret that this information is not available. The main county plans do not identify the land to be used for housing; they show the planning authorities' proposals in broad outline only. Town maps are prepared for areas where substantial development is expected—and for all the county boroughs—and these do identify the land to be used for housing; but such maps
