§ Mr. Malcolm MacPhersonasked the Minister of State for Commonwealth Relations what consideration is being given to participation by Her Majesty's Government in the Commonwealth Institute of Social Research to be established in Ottawa under the chairmanship of Mr. Mark Drouin. Speaker of the Canadian Senate.
§ Mr. R. ThompsonThe Commonwealth Institute for Social Research in Canada is not an official organisation. It would not, therefore, be appropriate for Her Majesty's Government as such to take part in its activities. I understand that a number of Members on both sides of the House have, in fact, agreed to sponsor the scheme, and I welcome their interest.
