HL Deb 26 January 1960 vol 220 c696WA
LORD RUSSELL OF LIVERPOOL

asked Her Majesty's Government whether, having regard to the fact that the Pritchard Committee on the Rating of Charities reported several months ago, the Government's proposal may be expected in the near future.

THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR WELSH AFFAIRS (LORD BRECON)

My right honourable friend has the Report under consideration, but he considers it necessary to know the outcome of current appeals against the assessments of universities and colleges, which account for about three-tenths of the rateable value within the Committee's field of review, before reaching any conclusion on its recommendations.

House adjourned at seven minutes past six o'clock.
