HC Deb 26 February 1960 vol 618 c94W
Mr. Roy Jenkins

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs whether he proposes to make a preservation order for the Central Hotel, Cambridge, in view of the fact that it was listed by the Royal Commission on Ancient Monuments as specially worthy of preservation.

Mr. H. Brooke

I informed the Cambridgeshire County Council last April that I did not propose to make a preservation order. I have considered the matter further in the light of what the Royal Commission has said, and of all other relevant factors, but I adhere to my original view.
