Mr. Gresham Cookeasked the Minister of Transport if he will ask the Departmental Committee on Road Safety to consider the suggestion that in order to avoid danger to cyclists on the carriageway at night cyclists should be permitted to ride on paths alongside roads after lighting-up time outside built-up areas.
§ Mr. MarplesI will gladly put this suggestion to the Road Safety Committee if my hon. Friend will let me have a brief note on the reasons why he thinks it should he adopted.
