§ Sir W. Wakefieldasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what steps he is proposing to take to make the private Kensington Palace Gardens road into a public road in order to relieve the present congestion of north-south traffic in that area.
Mr. AmoryThe roadway of Kensington Palace Gardens is maintained at the expense, and for the benefit, of the lessees of the houses abutting on the road and the provisions of the Crown Estate leases preclude the Crown Estate Commissioners from allowing the road to be used otherwise than as a private road.
