Mr. Parkerasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs whether he has yet completed his consideration of the resolution of the Association of Municipal Corporations in favour of meeting travelling expenses of council members, within the area of their local authority, when on council business; and whether he will soon introduce legislation for this purpose.
§ Mr. H. BrookeVarious matters affecting travelling and subsistence expenses have to be further discussed with the representatives of local authorities before my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland and I can reach conclusions about amendment of the law. Meanwhile, I can hold out no hope of legislation this session.
